The Story of Laurie's Divorce
Laurie Balot was shot dead by her brother-in-law in July 2019. Charles Balot had filed for divorce from Laurie after she withdrew $35,000 from a business account and paid for a trip to Hawaii. In the divorce papers it's claimed that Laurie believed that she was an immortal being who lived many lives and traveled to different planets. She spoke about these outlandish beliefs often but no one thought they should be kept secret.
