The Chorus and the Attic Tragedies
Theater is an instrument originally o group delusion, or a group, collective vision. So everybody's kind of in the chorusther, telling the same story. They're getting high weather off of actual substancesor just on the enthusiasm of the moment. And n it's like the vision that the story conjures up, the story that is, of course, influenced by music. It's ultimately the music that's conjuring up the vision. We must always keep to mind that the public at an attic tragedy found itself in the chorus of the orchestra. There was, at bottom, no opposition between public and chorus.
