Carl Ross skips town and he is also the first person arrested. Winston Mosley was loading his new TV into his white corvair when police started questioning him about Kitty's murder. He confesses convincingly to the murder, but then witnesses noticed that there was a white Corvair at the crime scene. The case of urban apathy gets solved by urban snitching.
