The Formal Principle of Life
Ritual is the forming principle for human life in general. The poet who knows how to handle that form has acquired a power and he can have freedom within it. With respect to classicism there is the classicism that finds the achievement of the form easy and plays with it in a rich vital way. There is the other romanticism which cannot match the form and smashes it out of resentment.
