Should You Pitch That Twist?
"I've seen so many students make the same mistake, right? You're so busy establishing and laying in and trying to set up that twist," he says. "It always needs to be something that were led into along the thread of the characters' personal arcs through the story" If you have to give away your trick ending to do that, you give it away; can you land the trick ending in a short pitch? Sometimes it's actually impossible to land it.
