Primates Purgatorius

Primates purgatorius was a small mammal that is believed to have looked like a modern rat. And it is believed that it was alive when the asteroid wiped out the dinosaurs. Was around six inches in length and weighed about one ounce. It is highly debated whether this animal was an ancestor of the primates. There was a fossil discovered in china which appears to be one of the first distinct primates. These animals are classified as arcicebus achilles, and appear to have also been around one ounce in weight,. This may explain how it was possible for it or its ancestor to survive the mass extinction event. So we are still talking about a point in time roughly 55 million years
