The NDAA and the US Military Assistance to Taiwan - It's a Provocation to China
Taiwan's de facto embassy in Washington said, quote, we urgently need the help and hope that assistance will be allocated as grants. Since Washington's severed diplomatic relations with Taipei in 1979, the US has sold weapons to Taiwan but never financed the purchase. The NDAA also contains provisions to boost informal diplomatic relations between the US and China which is another type of cooperation that will anger Beijing.
