This is quite a bold step, so it may promote other universities to take more aggressive stands against gender and racial inequality. There also could be some unintended effects. The people who get these fellowships aren't the people who are making the decision who gets honorary degrees. These fellowships from snow medical are for mid career researches. So this may, you know, end up disadvantage in the people whom the fellowship is actually meant to help.
