The Troubles in Ireland
The book I have in mind for you about the troubles is trespasses by Louise Kennedy. This is her first novel and it just came out last November, 2022. The reason I like it for you is because of what you want to feel like you are there. You want to experience the time in place. So, ostensibly, this is a story of forbidden romance set in Northern Ireland during the 1970s during the troubles. But as a reader, reading from 2023, California, in your case, you're not taking it for granted. Laurel, how does that sound?
