The Life and Times of Ranavarloana
Ranavarloana was a ruler of Madagascar in the late 1800s. She tried to block any European influence on her island, including Christianity. But she actually liked French style and culture more than what you would previously think. A combined French and English attack on Madagascar in 1849 failed miserably.
