Is There Really a Wrong Abstraction?

I think this gets under my fingernails in part because the abstraction that throws out is the one that you and I have spent our careers in more or less. And it's saying that like this, there shouldn't be an abstraction here at all,. That we actually operating systems as an abstraction should not exist is to me what this is saying at kind of its most polemic. It's a little tough to swallow. The pathologies that you're going to generate by doing that are really mind-warming. When you get it wrong, the kinds of defects that you have are reallymind-warming. You've got to develop these systems really carefully and with a lot of rigor.
