The Poor Night by Kalia Dostogovsky
Dostogovsky self-consciously had the notion of the most beautiful, perfect person in mind with Michigan and that the only other two that one would refer to would be Jesus and Don Quixote. The poor night did not care what this lady was or what she did. He had chosen his ideal and he was bound to serve her and breaklances for her. That sort of thing is not to be found every day among the men of our times in the poem. If she had taken to stealing, he would have championed her just the same. Dostogovsky desired to embody medieval chivalry and the platonic love of the pure and high-sold night.
