The Magic Flute and the Importance of Church State Relations

The music we just heard is the march of the priests from the beginning of the second act of Mozart's The Magic Flute. We heard it in recording with Habat von Karayan from 1950. So since we're talking about intercalism today, I thought we should listen to a little bit of the magic flute. It's sort of the enlightenment's own view of enlightenment reason as this light breaking in on a dark world and triumphing over the Catholic Church.
