Larry Summers: The idea that we would want to abolish central banks and replace them with something like an old standard and free markets, I think it's one of the worst ideas possible. He says a banking system without a central bank actually provides better incentives for banks to act with more restraint,. That's an absence of moral hazard. And that's really important.
