The time that i found works really well for anatomical adaptations is late spring, right when most people are cutting out their strength training. Once you get to the age of 50, this is not just about cycling or triathon any more d this is where i have a big problem with ironman. Cyclists need all fundamental five plus one movements, pushpool, squat, hinch press and rotary stability. You need all of them to be working well in order for you to in balance.
