The Fed's Troubles With Inflation
Julian Zelizer: The Fed has been a complete disaster because they have blatantly and openly rejected the quantity theory of the money. They don't look at the quantity of money and they don't include it in their policy deliberations, which is why we had so much inflation. And I think the problem is that they will continue to increase the federal funds rate a little bit but not as rapidly as they have been doing. If you put all that together, it looks like they're just headed down the wrong road, and they're going to give us a recession and maybe a pretty good recession.
