The Importance of Diversity in America
I remember when I was in school, the history teachers would talk about America as a melting pot. And that idea of immigrants coming in with their own cultures and they're being a back and forth has been lost. We decided that somehow it was untoward to demand that people become something other than exactly what they are when they walk in. Both sides have to give. That's the melting pot.
