How a Dad Invested in a Student Loan
In 2006 the Labour government removed interest payments on student loan for all borrowers resident in New Zealand. Brendan stopped his extra payments and began only paying the percentage that they garnished from his wages each fortnight which he thinks was about 10% but today it's 12%. But instead of spending that now surplus student loan money he took the advice of friends who appeared to be well off and he visited the financial advisor.
