By wearing a helmet that tracked the movements of your head, you were no longer trapped on the other side of a flat screen. You could look around and actually feel like you were inside a computer generated environment. The power glove was a controller for the nentendo entertainment system. In the game bad street brawler, you coul use it to aly punch the bad guys with your own arm instead of just smashing a button.
