There are things on the surface of mars that, to many people's eyes, look like life. If we go to mars and there's no intelligent life there, but since we're intelligent now, that planet is something we have ponsibility for as well. And thinking about what can we legitimately do here,. ecause we don't want to just wipe out all kinds of martian life.
