The puranist texts are such strong arguments against many of the theoretical and dogmatic views that are kind of popular for the previous thousand years or whatever. They just force a reckoning with you know how do we know things they kind of shift everything from an argument about to epistemology which comes about in the late 16th century. The medieval scholastics are doing something like if you imagine concentration meditation in Buddhism as being like focusing on a reified object right? That's what spinoza was trying to do.
