What's the Point of Estimation?
The act of estimating forces you to discover more requirements. You need to be able to give some target date for other parts of the business. When you decompose tasks, you usually end up with more work than less work. But those are just the couple of reasons why you might bother with an estimate or what an estimate is good for that I can come up with.
