The Importance of Gender Identity

Gender identity almost always manifests in someone who has clearly identifiable male or female genes and anatomy. Even in intersex cases, it's still possible to determine if someone is biologically male or female. In some cases, for those who are identified as intersex, corrective surgery might be needed to treat their condition. But it is not possible to use surgery to turn a man into a woman. All you would have is a procedure that has mutilated a man who claims to be a woman.
