I think in the end, you know, there is a way in which all this Galilean view of things, with the project of science to reverse engineer what God is up to in creating the world. And maybe part of that reverse engineering is, well, yes, but God is presumably not just concerned with mathematical beauty and simplicity. There are other concerns, such as, for example, that there be beings other than himself that appreciate this mathematical beauty.
