The IMF's Downbeat Forecast for the UK Economy
Last week the IMF predicted that the UK economy will shrink by 0.6% in 2023. This has not gone down well with some, including Conservative MP Jacob Reesmogg. He said on Twitter that the IMF makes Radio 4's racing tips look respectable. But why is the IMF so gloomy about the UK's near-term economic prospects? The IMF's chief economist Pierre Olivier Gorincher gave three reasons at a press conference.
