A worthless man plots evil. And his speech is like a scorching fire. A dishonest man spreads strife and a whisper or a gossip or a murmur, which is not a word. Think about the realm of community. James and Proverbs are saying that an entire community can be ravaged, destroyed, burnt down by dishonesty and gossip in one man's tongue. Words have the power because they can penetrate into the deepest part of who you are. words go inside of us.
