The Early Romans
Early inda european settlers in and around the region of rome were just some of the many competing tribes during this period. Most of these competing tribes also spoke indo european languages, including several who spoke early dialects which we would come to know as latin. All these tribes had their own gods and customs, and they fought amongst themselves for power and influence. But over time, the peoples who inhabited the hills around the emerging settlee of Rome began to emerge as a distinct group of early people, whom we can begin to call the romans.
