The Importance of High Temperatures for Fusion
Philip O'Branning tells us what conditions are necessary to achieve fusion. To try and catch up with the sun, I replicate the sun here on Earth. And there in existence as we sit and speak this morning. We need temperatures of around 100 million degrees. It means what you imagine 200 milligrams of the sun is about 15 million degrees. Equally unimaginably, it's a bit of ocean.
