The Evolution of Symbiotic Relationships

You could easily end up in a situation where they're just inside and you end up passing it along. Any symbiotic relationship you can think of has evolved multiple times. It's not one group of animals started having one symbatic relationship with the bacteria, and then all descendants. New sembiotic relationships happen. So it is a constantly shifting, constantly being evolved between organisms. And if there are microbes inside you that are providing some tiny benefit, than generation to generation, a species may be selected for a feature on the interior,. which might then encourage selection for the most helpful ones.
