I Believe in Conversion, Believe in Debt Limit

The president has been criticized for making hay out of the idea that Social Security and Medicare changes could be tied to debt limit. The White House says it's not a real debate at the moment, but Republicans think he's being disingenuous. Part of this is the politics of using the word cut or slash; if Republicans say we should raise the eligibility age, we should do other things to lower the projected increase in costs like more means-tested higher earners.
