Mildred was diagnosed with schizophrenia at 17 years old. She tried numerous anti-psychotic and mood stabilizing medications, but they did not stop her symptoms. At the age of 70, she's referred to Duke University where Dr. Eric Westman used the ketogenic diet as a weight loss tool. Within months, all her symptoms of schizophrenia were in remission. This woman went on to live for another 15 years. But very tragically, this woman passed away of COVID pneumonia at the age of 85.
