The Kindness of God

David asks, is there anyone still left of the house of Saul that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake? Now this is something else because you would assume a new king, especially a king like David who for 15 years ran for his life from Saul. The Hebrew word for kindness is the said and it speaks of not God's general love but his covenantal love for his people. This is Jesus. He says to the woman caught in adultery, go in peace and send no more. That's kindness.
