How Progressives Might Handle Difficult Seats in the General Election
I just think it's very unlikely. There are so many reasons that even though Johnson himself is now clearly not popular and certainly won't be popular with the people running number 10. The hassle factor of losing a by-election, which all that does is provides weeks of narrative about the government losing its power,. I can't see any reason why they would let that happen. One thing that goes against that is just the large number of Tory MPs who have said they won't stand for re-election. If they all decide to vote for him being sanctioned, then it only takes another handful really to dump him in it. Could this become quite a useful case study if there is a by-
