The Importance of Reason in Modernity

The modern period, which extends from 15 hundred to sometime in the twentieth century. It was a time for reason to take the throne from the church as the foundation of knowledge. This new found emphasis on reason led to immense scientific discoveries. There's lots of talk of progress and utopia enlightenment. But i tell you this because it does tell you a lot about the modern period.
