Eddie: I've been thinking a little bit about how the failover systems work at sea and compare those to how they work with Elixir. Eddie: One of the things that that great loopers do whenever they have a chance is they run with buddy boats. You're not responsible for getting the other ships across a passage, you're responsible to be there to take on passengers if something bad happens. He says he finds it surprising that low-tech redundancy systems like this actually work so well for so long.
