How to Measure Your HRV Reading

HRV is useful partly because it's such an inclusive indicator of stress, fatigue and recovery. If you get a red reading that really does mean that you should back off any kind of intensive training on that day. That doesn't mean necessarily that you can't perform well or you can't do a demanding workout. It may mean that you want to compensate by eating especially well or perhaps having a 20 minute power nap in the afternoon to help boost your recovery.
