The Problem With Merit in Climbing Everest

I'm kind of taken by this idea of merit. You know, you get out to the top of six of the other tallest mountains in the world and you have a little stamp in your mountain passport. But that counts more towards, oh, you can collect Everest too. It's an interesting idea. I'd have like a system like that. And then when people fail, you know, and they want to do it again, what happens? Do they have to, can they try again next year? They've got to wait 10 years?"
