Confucius Institutes on Campuses
Universities must be utterly transparent about funding and agreements between the universities to host confucius institutes. The foreign minister has the power under the foreign relations act to vary or cancil those agreements if she believes it in the national interest. Many universities do not have these protections currently in place. It is a question also for the federal government then, if universities can't meet those standards, whether we should continue to commit it.
