Quantum computing is so new that we don't even know what it will actually be based on. Google has a working quantum computer, and there are start ups building their own hardware. With any new technology, of course, there is potential for misuse and risk. And when quanticapites arrive in the next ten to 15 years, they will even more rapidly crack the complex mathematics that underlies many fincription today. Indeed, the quantum computer is likely to turn our present security castle into a mere house of cads.
