The Role and Position of a Book Runner
Back in the day, all of these exchanges were done by hand. It was my job to collect those cards off him depending on who the trader was and how often they traded. You had to kind of decide and how busy the market was. But then you had to go and write them in a book,. Make sure the trader was correct in his position and his P and L. Then you had to type them into an old. I think it was called a TRS system. They went off to the back office and then got manually allocated to traders account for the next day.
