Dr Kussmell gave a patient an antiseptic called naphthalane. It didn't seem to work for the intestinal worms, but it knocked out his fever. So they went back to the pharmacy and said, hey, you get this drug. And then the pharmacy said, oh, I actually gave you the wrong drug. Acetaminolide. But what they did notice is the patient's fever disappeared. The only side effect was that the patient went blue. That's where paracetamol can be toxic to other animals like dogs and cats. This drug caused a state called methemoglobinemia. Okay. Just that small side effect. Not cyan
