The Pros and Cons of Using Games to Model Disease Transmission
Researchers argue that you can control certain parameters in the game if you wanted to model the disease transmission more realistically. One of the very valid criticisms at the time was that people would often try and spread it to other players deliberately. Dr. Eric Loffgren makes the point that although someone might not have the intent to spread COVID, willfully ignoring the risk of spreading it is parallel to spreading intentionally.
