The Role of the Kinsman Redeemer
The kinsman Redeemer was responsible to carry on the family name by marrying a childless widow. Ruth is a widow with no children, so she comes to Boaz and says, you're our relative. Would you marry me? And Boaz says that he would love to, but there is a nearer kinsman, near someone who is actually the primary kinsman Red redeemer for her. So that's the role of the kinsmanRedeemer. There's a definite connection between the kinswoman Redeemer of the Old Testament and Jesus Christ in the New Testament.
