The Segregation of Black Girls at the New York State Training School
Fisteral was forced to live in the basement of a white cottages. She says she and other black girls were beaten by men for no apparent reason. The school's superintendent said that fisteral had been 'tortured' Fisterals experience shows just how segregated New York state training school really was.
