Adpositions often have lots of different sort of meanings if you try to put a dictionary definition to them. When I was learning foreign languages, one of the biggest things that I saw having very different sort of semantic fields was the prepositions. This gives you an opportunity also for if you enjoy creating subtleties in your lexicon.
