How to Convince People to Use Tools

I've been talking about this since I started talking about C++. The whole point is if you support multiple platforms, then you have more tools available to you that help you find bugs in your code. This should only help the people who have no tooling in their project. And nothing personal to JF here because that's a respectable proposal. But my immediate thought on reading this was if you're using any tools right now, you get warnings if you don't initialize your objects. You know, as you move back and forth.
