The Words Don't Mean the Same Thing When You're Speaking of God
When we apply terms to God, they just don't mean the same thing as when we apply them to things in the categories. Aquinas doesn't want to say that either. What it wants to say is that when we use these divine names, whichever one of them you may choose, there is an analogical use of the term. That's sufficient for us to be able to use the word is, and to say something of God.
