Functional programming is much more restricted, less hackyme. It's mostly like, you're not supposed to do things. A lot of teaching of of a imperative programmiis, don't do that. Don't do thatd they slap you over the head. In functional programming, it's more like there is a mathematical structure and let's just stick to it.
