Raffles Revisited
Raffles was born on the ship off the coast of Jamaica in 1781. He worked for the East India Company until 1805, when he moved to Malaysia. Raffles became Lieutenant Governor of Java after the British took it in 1811. His life story is told by historian Stephen Murphy from Soaz University of London.
