A reader DM'd me asking where and why I feel this tension. Well, in the ask, I acknowledge that there are many among us for whom scripture plays both a foundational and also a complicated role. You may see it being misused and pulled out of context or perhaps it's always been a complicated book for you just because it might seem difficult to understand all of that is understandable and believable. A faith that has tension is one to me that feels healthy.
